Yurihama Town Coworking Space Development Subsidy
Summary
The Yurihama Town Coworking Space Development Subsidy supports operators who set up coworking spaces within the town. Its purpose is to promote interregional human-resource exchange and create town vitality by enabling workers, students and other users to share desks, network equipment, meeting rooms and facilities for work and exchange. Eligible applicants run a coworking-space project within Yurihama Town and meet two requirements: no delinquency in municipal taxes, and no organized-crime affiliation. Projects must comply with relevant laws, not be religious or political, not involve illegal/inappropriate activity, and not receive other national, prefectural or town subsidies. Eligible expenses cover three categories: facility development (electrical/telephone wiring, lighting, HVAC, security installation, fixed partitions, removal); communication (Wi-Fi/LAN equipment and installation); and furniture/equipment (desks, chairs, sofas, projectors, screens, mobile partitions, rental power). Consumption tax is excluded. The subsidy equals one-half of eligible expenses (rounded down to 1,000 yen) up to 1,000,000 yen. Projects must complete within the grant-decision fiscal year, begin operation within six months after completion, and be self-operated for at least five years. Applicants submit Form No.1 with business plan, budget, operation plan, contracts/quotes, drawings, photos, real-estate and tax certificates before starting. Effective April 1, 2026.
