Summary

1) Overview: This subsidy is administered by Yoshinogawa City (Tokushima Pref.) Industry & Economy Dept., Commerce & Tourism Division, to attract IT-related and digital-technology businesses to establish satellite offices within the city, thereby creating new business activity and employment and revitalising the local economy. Operators must file a prior application before starting the project; contact the Commerce Promotion Section (0883-22-2226). 2) Eligible applicants: Businesses that newly establish a satellite office in Yoshinogawa City and are expected to continue operations for at least three years; at least one full-time worker or corporate officer must be stationed at the satellite office permanently; the applicant must not be in arrears on city taxes; and the applicant must not have received this subsidy or any other municipal grant for the same project previously. IT-related and digital-technology businesses are the main target. 3) Eligible expenses & support: Four expense categories are covered: (a) renovation costs and equipment purchases (interior/exterior, plumbing, signage, electrical work, fixtures); (b) land/building lease fees for the office over 36 months from the lease start month (excluding key money and deposits); (c) usage fees for office equipment and communication lines over 36 months from the start month; (d) wages and allowances for newly hired local employees over 36 months from the start of employment. 4) Rate, caps, schedule, application points: Subsidy rate is 1/2 of eligible costs for every category. Caps: renovation/equipment JPY 500,000; lease JPY 500,000/year x 3 years (max 1.5M); usage fees JPY 300,000/year x 3 years (max 900K); wages JPY 200,000 per new local hire/year x 3 years.
