Uto City Scholarship Repayment Support Subsidy

1. Overview: Uto City’s Scholarship Repayment Support Subsidy helps young workers repay scholarships. Repayments made on or after April 1, 2024 are eligible. 2. Eligible applicants: Applicants must be under 30 on April 1 of the application year, live in Uto City on the application date, have borrowed a scholarship while in school, and owe repayment. They must be regularly employed by a city-based business after April 1, 2024, and still employed when applying. 3. Eligible costs: Costs are scholarship repayments made in the fiscal year before application. Eligible scholarships include JASSO Type 1 and Type 2, Kumamoto Prefecture funds, and mayor-approved scholarships. Months before employment or without Uto City residence are excluded. 4. Amount and schedule: Support is up to 200,000 yen per year. Each person may apply up to three times, so total support can reach 600,000 yen. Applications run May 1 to September end each year; first-time applications are due by September 30, 2027.
