Toyota City SME LED Lighting Replacement Subsidy
Summary
(1) Overview: Toyota City (Aichi Prefecture) subsidizes part of the costs incurred by SMEs, individual proprietors, and other corporations (SMEs etc.) operating within the city to replace existing lighting equipment at their business premises with LED lighting equipment of superior energy efficiency, with the goal of reducing energy consumption and supporting sustainable local industry (Article 3). (2) Eligible applicants: SMEs etc. with a business office (for individual proprietors, address and main office) located in Toyota City and operating in the city for at least one year prior to the prior-confirmation request. They must satisfy all conditions of Article 4: not engaged in sex-related entertainment businesses, no relationship with organized crime members, no delinquent or unfiled municipal taxes, not violating public order, and having required permits. (3) Eligible expenses & content: Eligible equipment must be indoor fixed LED lighting with improved energy efficiency over the existing equipment and the same usage purpose. Replacement from fluorescent/incandescent etc. is eligible; new construction, additions, and replacement of broken equipment are excluded. Eligible expenses are survey, design, equipment (including installation), and incidental works, excluding consumption tax. Orders must be placed with vendors having a head/branch office within the city. (4) Rate, ceiling, schedule & application points: Subsidy rate is up to 1/2 of eligible expenses, capped at JPY 3,000,000 (rounded down to the nearest 1,000 yen). Costs of JPY 200,000 or less are ineligible. Prior-confirmation requests are accepted from June 1, 2026 to August 31, 2026; the project must be completed by December 31, 2026. Each applicant may submit one prior-confirmation request only, and the grant application/results report must be submitted within 30 days after project completion.
