(1) Overview: Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau launch the Projection Mapping Promotion Support Program to build attractive nighttime urban landscapes and drive inbound and domestic tourism. The scheme subsidizes part of the cost of new projection mapping and drone show projects, alongside a free general consultation desk. (2) Eligible applicants: Municipalities, tourism associations, chambers of commerce, area-management bodies, private businesses, other legal entities, and shopping districts. Private businesses and other legal entities must apply as joint implementers of two or more bodies. (3) Eligible expenses: Costs for executing new projection mapping or drone show projects (production, equipment, operations, etc.). Separate funding tiers exist for new, year-2, and year-3 continuation projects, and free expert dispatch is available up to five times per applicant. (4) Rate / cap / schedule: Up to 2/3 for new (cap JPY 25M), 1/2 for year-2 (cap 20M), 1/3 for year-3 (cap 15M). Applications run 28 Apr 2026 to 17:00 on 29 Jan 2027 over four review rounds (29 May / 31 Aug / 30 Nov / 29 Jan). Annual adoption is capped; later rounds may be cancelled once filled, so apply early.
