Summary
① Overview: The Takamatsu City SME IT Passport Acquisition Support Subsidy supports small and medium-sized enterprises in the city that promote digital basic knowledge acquisition and reskilling among their employees, in response to growing labor shortages and the progression of DX. It subsidizes part of the examination fees and preparation course tuition incurred by employers who support employees taking and passing the IT Passport Examination or the Information Security Management Examination administered by IPA. Combined receipt for the same employee passing multiple tests is not permitted. ② Eligible applicants: SMEs and small-scale operators as defined in Article 2(1) of the SME Basic Act that maintain their head office or principal place of business (residence for individuals) within Takamatsu City, generate business income, and intend to continue operations. Excluded are organized-crime affiliates, the national government and public corporations, adult-entertainment businesses, political parties, religious organizations (with limited exceptions), unincorporated voluntary groups, parties under municipal suspension measures, recipients of other equivalent subsidies for the same employee, municipal tax non-filers/delinquents, and parties already granted this subsidy in the same fiscal year. ③ Eligible expenses: (1) examination fees for support exams paid by successful candidates and (2) preparation-course tuition for successful candidates (must start in the relevant fiscal year; limited to one course per supported employee). The applicant must have actually borne the expense, and only costs related to successful candidates qualify. Applications must be for category A only or A+B; B-only applications are not accepted. ④ Rate, ceiling, schedule, key points: Subsidy rate 10/10. Per-passer caps: ¥6,800 examination fee, ¥13,200 preparation course. Per-applicant ceiling: ¥200,000. Pre-application: 1 Apr 2026 to 31 Dec 2027 via online form on a first-come basis. Grant application: by 23 Mar 2028 by post (must arrive). Process: pre-application → consent number → study & take exam → pass → grant application → decision/order → invoice → payment. Waitlist numbers are issued when budget is exceeded.
