Subsidy for Drone-Based Tour Creation (Accessible Tourism)
Summary
1) Overview: The Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs operates the FY2026 "Subsidy for Drone-Based Tour Creation" to promote accessible tourism — supporting travel businesses that create and run tour products leveraging drones so that people with disabilities, elderly people, and others facing mobility or communication difficulties can also enjoy Tokyo tourism. 2) Eligible Applicants: Travel businesses whose head office or principal business establishment is located within Tokyo. Both corporate entities and individual proprietors operating travel agency business are eligible. 3) Eligible Expenses: Three categories — (a) Product-creation expenses (site survey costs, drone-system construction etc.); (b) Product-sales expenses (advertising placement, PR-tool production); (c) Product-operations expenses (tour execution, staff arrangement). Projects must deliver inclusive Tokyo tour products responding to needs of persons with mobility or communication difficulties. 4) Rate, Cap, Schedule & Notes: Maximum 5,000,000 JPY per tour product, subsidy rate up to 2/3. About 10 projects to be adopted. Window 12 May 2026 to 15 July 2026. Results notified roughly one month after submission.
