Smart Agricultural Machinery Introduction Acceleration Support Project (Toyama Pref., FY2026)
Summary
(1) Overview: Toyama Prefecture's FY2026 Smart Agricultural Machinery Introduction Acceleration Support Project subsidizes the introduction of auto-steering systems and related smart agriculture machinery integrated with the shift to larger field-block cultivation, aiming to spread smart-agriculture technology in the prefecture. The requirement survey (yobou) must be submitted to the prefecture by 9 June 2026 (R8.6.9). (2) Eligible applicants: Certified farmers (nintei-noogyousha), certified new entrant farmers (nintei-shinki-shuunousha), village-based farming organisations (shuraku-eino), and organisations whose members are farmers. Leasing is NOT eligible. As a rule, only one machine per management entity is allowed, with an exception when a tractor and a retrofit auto-steering system are installed together. (3) Eligible expenses & content: Three eligible-machine categories – Robot farm machinery (field ≥1 ha), auto-steering tractors/rice planters etc. (field ≥50 a), and retrofit auto-steering / levelling systems (field ≥50 a). In hilly/mountainous (chuusankan) areas the size threshold may be waived when per-parcel area expands. Yield combines, GNSS guidance units, drones, harrows/rotaries and other ancillary implements, installation labour, and levelling-system attachments are all OUT of scope. Machinery vendors must support farm-data interoperability with non-OEM systems. (4) Subsidy rate, ceiling, schedule, application points: Rate up to 1/3 of project cost. Ceiling: Robot machinery 5,000,000 JPY; auto-steering tractor/planter etc. 3,000,000 JPY; retrofit auto-steering/levelling 830,000 JPY (lower of project cost × rate or ceiling, rounded down to 1,000 JPY). Schedule: requirements to prefecture by R8.6.9; allocation notice mid-June R8; grant application & decision from R8.7; machinery installation complete by R9.2.28; performance report and subsidy payment by R9.3.31. Submitting a pre-decision start notice on the allocation-notice date enables work to begin after that date.
