Shibukawa City Exhibition Participation Support Subsidy
Summary
1) Overview: The Shibukawa City Exhibition Participation Support Subsidy assists SMEs in the manufacturing sector located within Shibukawa City (Gunma Prefecture) with a portion of the costs to participate in trade shows and exhibitions held domestically or overseas. Its purpose is to promote development of new sales channels for SMEs that develop products/technologies or manufacture products; eligible expenses were expanded in FY 2026. 2) Eligible applicants: SMEs that satisfy all of the following at application time — (1) classified as a manufacturing industry under the Japan Standard Industrial Classification, (2) head office or business establishment located within the city, (3) at least one year of business track record in the city, (4) not a member of organized crime groups under the Shibukawa City Anti-Organized Crime Ordinance, and (5) no delinquent municipal taxes. For manufacturing, SME means capital of 300 million yen or less, OR 300 or fewer employees. 3) Eligible expenses: (1) Booth rental and exhibition space fees, (2) Participation fees, (3) Exhibition decoration costs. Only expenses paid directly to the exhibition organizer qualify. Excluded: non-public events, sales-primary events, contest-style events, events the applicant itself hosts, and projects already receiving subsidies from the national/local government or public-interest corporations. 4) Subsidy rate/cap/schedule/points: Subsidy rate is 1/2 of eligible expenses, capped at JPY 200,000 (sub-thousand-yen amounts truncated). Reception begins April 1, FY 2026 on a first-come-first-served basis until budget is exhausted. Application must be filed by the day before the exhibition opens, via in-person delivery, mail, or email, using Application Form No. 1 with Form No. 2 (overview), municipal tax payment certificate, and exhibition pamphlet showing costs. Limited to one application per business per fiscal year.
