Summary
This subsidy supports Tokyo-based SMEs in protecting their products and technologies from counterfeiting and intellectual property infringement abroad by subsidizing investigation and enforcement expenses. Eligible applicants include SMEs (companies and sole proprietors), SME associations, and general incorporated associations/foundations within Tokyo; prior consultation with intellectual property advisors is mandatory. The subsidy covers up to 2 million yen at a rate of 1/2 or less, including investigation costs to confirm infringement, counterfeit product appraisals, warning notifications, and customs import stoppage measures. Eligible IP rights include patents, utility models, designs, trademarks, copyrights, and other industrial property rights; the subsidy period runs from April 1, 2026 to November 30, 2027. Applications are accepted continuously with a final deadline of October 1, 2026 at 5:00 PM; both jGrants electronic submission and document submission are required.
