1) Overview: This subsidy is operated by Okayama Prefecture to strengthen the earning power of SMEs in the prefecture and support wage-increase environment improvement, by funding digitalization investments that lead to productivity improvement and new sales channel development. The secretariat is the Okayama Prefecture Federation of Societies of Commerce and Industry, and applications are accepted via the J-Grants electronic application system only (no mail, in-person, or email submissions). 2) Eligible applicants: SMEs (including sole proprietors) defined under Article 2-1 of the Small and Medium Enterprise Support Act that have business premises in Okayama Prefecture. Industry-specific size thresholds: manufacturing / construction / transport ≤300 employees or capital ≤300M yen; wholesale ≤100/100M; retail ≤50/50M; services ≤100/50M; software / IT services ≤300/300M; lodging ≤200/50M. Quasi-large companies (de facto large), adult-entertainment businesses, prefectural tax delinquents, those linked to organized crime, and entities such as social welfare corporations, medical corporations and NPOs are excluded. 3) Eligible expenses: Six categories: (1) system / software introduction; (2) SaaS / cloud usage fees; (3) digital sales-promotion (own EC / website, mall-EC entry, digital content); (4) equipment purchase / installation; (5) security measures; (6) technical guidance / training. Categories 4-6 cannot be applied for alone — they must accompany categories 1-3. Category 6 must be ≤20% of total eligible expenses. General-purpose items (PC, tablet, Office software), consumables, repairs / upgrades, personnel costs, travel, maintenance fees, used equipment and lease / rental are all excluded. 4) Subsidy rate, cap, schedule, application points: Subsidy rate is up to 1/2 for SMEs and 2/3 for small-scale businesses; cap 2,000,000 yen (floor 100,000 yen). Application period: May 15 - July 15, 2026 (17:00 deadline). Grant decision around early September; project must be completed by Dec 31, 2026. With a prior-start notification (Form 1) approved by the Governor, work started from May 15, 2026 can be covered. A GBiz ID (which takes 2-3 weeks) is required; for any single vendor over 1M yen (tax incl.), a competing quote (from a second vendor) is also required. Payment must be by bank transfer only; cash / credit card / promissory notes are not accepted.
