Niigata Prefecture Renewable Energy Equipment Installation Promotion Subsidy
Summary
1. Overview: This Niigata Prefecture subsidy supports businesses installing renewable-energy generation equipment, renewable heat-use equipment, storage batteries and related equipment for self-consumption. The purpose is to promote renewable-energy deployment, prevent global warming and support prefectural industry. 2. Eligible applicants: Eligible applicants are corporations, organizations other than national and local governments, sole proprietors with offices in Niigata Prefecture, or business consortia composed of corporations with offices in the prefecture. Applicants connected to organized crime groups or anti-social forces are excluded, and prefectural tax clearance documentation is required. 3. Eligible equipment and costs: Eligible equipment includes wind, biomass, small hydro and geothermal generation equipment; storage batteries installed together with those generation systems or solar power; and heat-use systems such as solar heat, temperature-difference energy, snow and ice heat, geothermal heat and biomass heat. Eligible costs include design, equipment, construction and other directly necessary costs, excluding consumption tax and several listed ineligible costs. 4. Rate, cap and schedule: Subsidy rates and caps vary by equipment type. Wind generation is subsidized up to one fourth with a cap of 8,000 thousand yen, non-wind generation and heat-use systems up to one third with a cap of 5,000 thousand yen, and storage batteries up to one third with a cap of 1,460 thousand yen. The highest explicit cap is 8,000,000 yen. Applications are due by June 12, 2026 at 17:15, and the project period runs from the grant decision through March 31, 2027.
