Nara City Regional Decarbonization Transition and Renewable Energy Promotion Subsidy (FY2026) — for Households and Business Establishments

①Overview: Nara City targets 50% GHG cut by FY2030 vs FY2013 and net-zero by 2050. Via MOE's Regional Decarbonization Grant, FY2026 subsidies cover self-consumption solar PV and household batteries on homes/businesses, including PPA/lease. ②Applicants: Housing — Nara residents, those building a city home, or PPA/lease operators. Business — private juridical operators in the city, or PPA/lease operators. Excluded: religious/political bodies, tax-delinquents, organized-crime affiliates, and those already granted this subsidy for the same property. ③Eligible expenses: self-consumption PV and (housing only) household batteries. Housing requires PV+battery together; battery-only added to existing PV is ineligible. Costs cover construction, equipment, services, admin. HEMS and removal of pre-existing equipment excluded. FIT/FIP and self-wheeling not allowed. ④Rates/schedule: Residential PV 70k JPY/kW; Business PV 100k JPY/kW (pro-rated <230k JPY/kW). Residential battery 1/2 of cost, cap 141k×kWh×1/2 (≤20 kWh). First-come until budget exhausted; cutoff 15:00 Fri 25 Dec 2026. No start before approval.
