Summary

1) Overview: This subsidy promotes Nakayama Town's specialty product development utilizing local agricultural/forestry/livestock products. Supports new product development or improvement (brushup) of existing products using local raw materials, contributing to local product promotion and regional revitalization. Requires display of local material use during trial sales. 2) Eligible Applicants: Operators with business location in Nakayama Town, in industries per Table 2 (Japanese Standard Industrial Classification, excluding fishery/medical-welfare/composite services/public service), as legal entities or sole proprietors meeting all of: (1) understanding/active use of local products for promotion; (2) ability to distribute/sell developed products; (3) intent to continue business post-grant. EXCLUDED: tax delinquents, religious/political activities, adult entertainment, organized crime. 3) Eligible Project & Expenses: Two types: (1) New product development (specialty products not previously handled); (2) Brushup (improvement of design, container, contents, or body of existing local-material products for revenue increase). Eligible expenses: (1) Planning/development/prototyping (machinery use/lease, materials, design, manufacturing commission, inspection, technical guidance); (2) Trial sales/market expansion (exhibition fees, venue fees, travel expenses, market research). EXCLUDED: IP rights infringement, projects covered by other national/prefectural/town subsidies. 4) Subsidy Rate, Cap and Schedule: 1/2 rate or whichever is lower of (new product ¥100,000 or brushup ¥50,000), rounded down to ¥1,000. One per applicant per fiscal year. Revenue reduces eligible expense in trial sales/market expansion category. Ordinance effective April 1, 2026. Apply to Industrial Promotion Division. Submit application (Form 1), business plan (Form 2), budget (Form 3). Performance report due 30 days from completion or April 20 next fiscal year, whichever earlier.
