The Miyoshi City Price-Surge Response SME Management and Employment Maintenance Support Grant is a flat-amount cash support program funded by Japan's national Priority Support Regional Grant and administered solely by Miyoshi City (Hiroshima). It aims to ease the burden on small and medium-sized enterprises within Miyoshi City whose operations are affected by surging energy and goods prices and rising minimum wages, and to help them maintain employment. Each business may receive the grant only once. Eligible recipients are SMEs as defined by Article 2(1) of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Basic Act that began operating on or before 31 December 2025 and meet all five of: (1) being a corporation headquartered within Miyoshi City, or a sole proprietor with resident registration in the city and a primary place of business in the city; (2) deriving their main income (excluding pensions) from business income of at least 1.2 million JPY in 2025; (3) having filed an income-tax (or corporate-tax) return for 2025; (4) intending to continue the business; and (5) having paid all due municipal taxes and charges. Real-estate leasing, medical corporations, agricultural cooperatives and individual insurance agents are excluded; sole-practitioner doctors, individual farmers and incorporated farming bodies, and revenue-earning ippan-shadan and NPO corporations are eligible. This is not an expense-reimbursement subsidy: there are no eligible expenses or subsidy rate. The grant is taxable as income/corporate tax but not as consumption tax. Recipients of similarly-purposed national, prefectural or city subsidies (such as the Childcare Facility Price-Surge Subsidy or the Social-Welfare Facility Price-Surge Subsidy) are excluded. The grant equals a 50,000 JPY base plus 10,000 JPY per employee (Employment-Insurance insureds working at the Miyoshi City office), capped at 250,000 JPY per business (covering up to 20 employees). Applications run from 7 May 2026 to 31 July 2026; required documents include the Form-1 application/claim, the Form-2 pledge, tax filings and decision-of-account documents, a bank-account passbook copy, an employee-count proof, and a checklist. No postal submissions; documents must be hand-delivered to Miyoshi Chamber of Commerce or Miyoshi Wide-Area Commerce Society.
