Summary
This emergency support program by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries enables food manufacturers to strengthen coordination with producers and establish stable domestic raw material supply chains. It aims to reduce excessive import dependency and build a resilient food system. Eligible applicants include food processing companies and food industry-related organizations (corporations, cooperatives, NPOs, etc.) that have or are expected to obtain ministerial certification of stable trading relationship establishment activity plans and participate in producer coordination forums. The subsidy covers up to 50% of eligible costs with a maximum of ¥200 million per project (¥100 million minimum); ¥300 million if producer support activities are included. Eligible expenses include seed provision, machinery/equipment installation, technical advisory dispatch, new product development, and manufacturing line modifications. Submission of business implementation plans is required, and applicants must obtain certification under the Food Sustainable Supply and Fair Trading Law. The first application period runs from March 26 to April 28, 2026, and the second from June 1–30, 2026; applications must be submitted electronically through the designated recruitment website.
