Minamichita Town Startup Support Subsidy
Summary
The Minamichita Town Startup Support Subsidy supports initial investments needed by SMEs and other entrepreneurs starting a business in the town. Its purpose is to promote commerce and industry, revitalize the local economy, and secure employment. Eligible projects are opening a main business office in the town as a sole proprietor or establishing a company with its head office in Minamichita between April 1, 2025 and March 31, 2028. Eligible applicants must plan to start as an SME or similar business, intend to join or apply to join a chamber or commerce association in Minamichita, have no delinquent town taxes, and obtain or expect to obtain any required business permits. They must not receive other subsidies for the same expenses and must not be connected to organized crime groups. Eligible expenses include rent for business premises, corporate registration and related professional costs, renovation and equipment costs for the business premises, and advertising costs. Exclusions include deposits, key money, utilities, common charges, insurance, rent paid to relatives within the third degree, vehicle purchases, and equipment costing less than JPY 30,000. The subsidy rate is up to one-half of eligible costs, with a total cap of JPY 1,000,000. Category caps are JPY 50,000 per month and JPY 300,000 total for rent, JPY 100,000 for registration-related costs, JPY 500,000 for renovation and equipment, and JPY 300,000 for advertising. Applications are accepted from June 2, 2025 through the end of February 2028, from 9:00 to 17:00, on a first-come basis for each fiscal year.
