Kyoto City SME Energy-Saving Renovation Support Subsidy

1. Program overview: Kyoto City supports SME energy-saving renovation at business sites. It covers replacing lighting, hot-water equipment and air conditioners in existing facilities to reduce utility costs and CO2 emissions. 2. Eligible applicants: Applicants must already operate in Kyoto City. Eligible entities include SME companies and sole proprietors, cooperatives, medical and welfare corporations, schools, NPOs and associations. 3. Eligible expenses and work: Eligible costs are equipment and construction costs excluding consumption tax. Air conditioners must replace pre-2015 equipment with 2024-or-later equipment. Lighting must change non-LED fixtures to LED. Hot-water equipment must involve electrification or another CO2-saving fuel conversion. 4. Rate, cap and schedule: The rate is one third, capped at JPY 2,000,000 with a JPY 200,000 minimum. Applications run from November 28, 2025 to December 25, 2026. No order, contract or construction may start before the grant decision.
