Summary
1) Overview: Kurume City subsidy supports SMEs introducing food trucks (vehicles for in-vehicle cooking/processing and selling of food) to promote new entrants and diversified sales formats. One unit per business; only health-licensed food truck operations qualify. 2) Eligible Applicants: SMEs/sole proprietors with a business location in the city, meeting all of: SME per SME Strengthening Act Art. 2-1 (for food service: capital ≤¥50M, employees ≤100); eligible legal forms (sole proprietors, kabushiki/godo/yugen, professional corp, enterprise/cooperative associations); not adult entertainment/religious/political/organized crime; obtaining required health permit; food truck registration shows 'principal use location' in Kurume; owner matches applicant; intent to operate 3+ years; no prior use of this subsidy. 3) Eligible Expenses: (1) Vehicle modification (gas/electric/water installation, sales counter, painting/wrapping); (2) Equipment installation (stoves, sinks, refrigerators, water tanks, batteries - non-portable items); (3) Vehicle purchase (used OK, but must accompany modification or equipment). NOT eligible: lease/rental, license processing, internal transactions, consumption tax, transfer fees, duplicate subsidies. 4) Subsidy Rate, Cap and Schedule: 1/2 rate, ¥300,000 cap (rounded down).
