Kumagaya City Smart Agriculture Promotion Support Subsidy

Kumagaya City's Smart Agriculture Promotion Support Subsidy helps cover the cost of smart farming machinery for local farmers, to speed up smart-ag adoption. Rules effective April 1, 2025; amended March 11, 2026; valid through March 31, 2028. Applicants must meet all of: individuals with an address in Kumagaya City; corporations/organizations with head or main office in the city; certified as Farmer or New Farmer; no double-subsidy from national/prefectural/municipal sources for the same machine; no delinquent city taxes; operational systems in place. Eligible expenses are purchase costs (excluding consumption tax) of new machines bought or to be bought in the application year, limited to items in MAFF's Smart Agriculture Technology Catalogue or with equivalent functions. Attachments: estimate, catalogue, catalogue-listing proof, articles of incorporation (corporations), and a no-tax-delinquency certificate. Subsidy rate is up to 3/10 of eligible expenses, capped at JPY 600,000 (sub-1,000-yen truncated). File Form 1; after Form 2 decision, run the project and file Form 5 within 30 days of completion or by March 31, whichever is earlier. After Form 6 confirmation, submit Form 7 for bank-transfer payment. Records must be kept through the equipment's useful life.
