Summary
1. Program overview: Kakamigahara City’s Profitability Improvement and Wage-Increase Environment Subsidy supports local SMEs and similar entities affected by price increases. Using national temporary local revitalization funding for price-increase countermeasures, the city subsidizes projects that improve profitability and create an environment for wage increases, such as new product or service development, entry into new business fields, and DX initiatives. The application period runs from April 13, 2026 to January 29, 2027, and applications close early when the budget is exhausted. 2. Eligible applicants: Eligible applicants must have a head office, headquarters, or principal office in Kakamigahara City and fall within the listed eligible categories, including SMEs, agricultural, forestry, or fisheries businesses that sell products for value, NPOs, general incorporated associations and foundations, public-interest corporations, cooperatives, social welfare corporations, medical corporations, and school corporations. Applicants must have no city tax arrears, must not fall under exclusion criteria, and must not have received this subsidy before. Adult entertainment, political, and religious businesses are excluded. 3. Eligible projects and costs: Eligible projects must contribute to the applicant’s profitability improvement for wage increases and must relate to a business site in the city. Project categories are development of new products or services, entry into new fields, and DX promotion. Eligible costs include development expenses, equipment and fixture introduction, outsourcing, store renovation, advertising, machinery introduction, software or system introduction, and hardware introduction, depending on the project category. 4. Rate, cap, schedule, and application points: The subsidy is one half of eligible costs, rounded down below 1,000 yen, with a maximum of 1,000,000 yen. Each applicant may receive the subsidy only once. Projects receiving or applying for national or local government subsidies are excluded. Applicants submit the application form, business plan, wage-increase statement, estimates, and pledge/consent documents. Project start is generally after the grant decision, completion must be by the end of February 2027, and a completion report is due within 30 days or by that date, whichever comes first.
