(1) Overview: Kagawa Industry Support Foundation runs this indirect subsidy (METI Foreign Application Support) helping Kagawa SMEs file foreign patent, utility model, design and trademark (incl. defensive) applications. (2) Applicants: SMEs based in Kagawa that finish foreign filing and submit report by Feb 26 2027. Domestic+foreign filings share one applicant; patent attorney cooperation needed; accept follow-up surveys; hold overseas plan or anti-piracy intent; have funding. Quasi-large firms and SMEs with 3-yr avg taxable income > JPY 1.5B excluded. (3) Eligible expenses: foreign office fees, local agent, domestic agent, translation fees (excl. tax/VAT). JPO fees ineligible. All work must occur AFTER grant. (4) Rate 1/2; cap JPY 3M/company/yr. Per-app: patent 1.5M; UM/design/trademark 600K; defensive 300K.
