International Content Production Support Program Grant

① Overview: Tokyo and TCVB subsidize location scouting and shooting in Tokyo for screen works released overseas. The program promotes Tokyo through films and dramas and links filming to tourism. Animated films and short films are excluded. ② Applicants: Applicants must be corporations under Japanese law. Scouting applicants coordinate Tokyo scouting for a foreign production entity. Shooting applicants must have production experience and co-produce with, or be commissioned by, a foreign entity. ③ Costs: Scouting covers travel, lodging, coordinators, vehicles and facility visits. Shooting covers travel, lodging, equipment rental, facility and permit fees, transport, costumes, hair/makeup, art, decoration, consumables and insurance for Tokyo shooting. Meals and post-production are excluded. ④ Rate and schedule: The standard rate is up to one-half; shooting after using this scouting grant may be up to two-thirds. Caps are 1 million yen for scouting and 10 million yen for shooting.
