Summary

1) Overview: This subsidy supports projects utilizing the Japan Heritage story 'Sanctuaries of the Sun and Earth Connected by Leylines - Shinshu Ueda and Shiodaira' certified for Ueda City in 2020. The Ueda City Japan Heritage Promotion Council provides financial support for soft programs and new product/service/experience development projects that contribute to improving the heritage's reputation and revitalizing the region. 2) Eligible Applicants: Applicants must meet common requirements including no delinquent municipal taxes, not engaging in regulated entertainment businesses, and no ties to organized crime. (1) Soft Heritage Utilization Projects accept corporations, sole proprietors with city offices, or groups led by residents/commuters/students. (2) New Product Development and (3) High Value-Added projects accept only corporations or sole proprietors with offices in the city. Non-incorporated groups must meet four conditions: bylaws, decision-making organization, accounting system, and office location. 3) Eligible Expenses: Soft projects cover wages (max ¥1,000/hour), honorariums, travel, accommodation (by region table), supplies, raw materials, equipment, facility rental, service fees, and outsourcing fees. New product development covers expense compensation, travel, expert fees (¥40,000/day), R&D, rental, raw materials, equipment, outsourcing, printing, and intellectual property acquisition. Food expenses, organizational operating costs, taxes, beneficiary-borne expenses, and out-of-period expenses are excluded. 4) Subsidy Rate, Cap and Schedule: (1) Soft projects: 10/10 rate, ¥100,000 max. (2)(3) New product/value-added: 5/10 rate, ¥200,000 max. First application deadline June 30, 2026 (Tue) 12:00 noon. Second round August 28 and third round November 30 if budget remains. Implementation period: from grant decision date to end of January 2027. Required documents: application form, project plan, budget, applicant overview, quotations, pledge, tax clearance certificate, logo use application. Email submissions must prefix subject with '【提出】【上田市日本遺産関連事業支援補助金】'.
