① Overview: Tokyo supports business-oriented Japanese language education, teacher-created materials, business manners and intercultural training for foreign employees. The general and Ukrainian-evacuee employer courses each offer a standard plan of at least 50 hours and a short plan of at least 30 hours; manners or intercultural training must be combined with Japanese education or materials. ② Applicants: The general course covers Tokyo-based SMEs with at least two regular employees. The Ukrainian course also accepts non-SME mid-sized firms with 51–999 employees. Applicants must meet employment-reporting, labor-law, tax and anti-organized-crime requirements. Employees must be directly and continuously employed at a Tokyo office, generally at N2 level or below and hold an eligible residence status; the Ukrainian course also requires evacuee certification and work authorization. ③ Costs: Eligible costs include teacher honoraria, materials under JPY100,000, teacher travel, printing, outsourcing and venue rental, including consumption tax. Daily-conversation-only or test-preparation training, insufficient hours, indirect costs, duplicate public funding and employee-paid costs are excluded. ④ Rate and schedule: The general course covers one half, capped at JPY250,000 for the standard plan or JPY150,000 for the short plan. The Ukrainian course covers 100%, capped at JPY500,000 or JPY300,000. Apply from April 9, 2026 through January 14, 2027; projects run after award through March 31, 2027.
