FY2026 Nara City Energy-Saving Diagnosis Support Subsidy

1) Overview: Nara City subsidy to support SMEs and other operators in the city receiving energy-saving diagnoses to understand CO2 emissions and energy usage at their business sites. Subsidizes self-pay portion of public energy-saving diagnoses (up to 5 types) by Energy Conservation Center of Japan and Environment Co-Creation Initiative, balancing Zero Carbon City realization with business improvement. 2) Eligible Applicants: All of: (1) one of: SMEs (per SME Basic Law Art. 2 - manufacturing/other ≤¥300M capital or ≤300 employees, wholesale ≤¥100M/100, services ≤¥50M/100, retail ≤¥50M/50) with business location in city; OR non-corporate entities (social welfare, medical, school, NPO corps) with business location in city; (2) no municipal tax delinquency; (3) not receiving this subsidy in same fiscal year; (4) not organized crime per Nara City Ordinance Art. 2-3. 3) Eligible Project & Expenses: Subsidies received energy-saving diagnoses between April 1, 2026 and February 28, 2027: (1) Energy Optimization Diagnosis; (2) Step-Up Diagnosis; (3) Walk-through Diagnosis; (4) IT Diagnosis; (5) Accompanying Support. ①② by Energy Conservation Center of Japan, ③④⑤ by Environment Co-Creation Initiative. Eligible expense: fees paid to diagnostic agency (less consumption tax). 4) Subsidy Rate, Cap and Schedule: Full eligible cost (rounded down to ¥1,000), capped at ¥20,000. One application per business (one diagnosis). Application deadline: March 19, 2027 (Fri) 15:00. Process: (1) Receive diagnosis (by Feb 28, 2027); (2) After report and receipt, apply via email; (3) Register payment account; (4) Decision/confirmation notice; (5) Submit invoice; (6) Payment in ~1 month. Documents: application/performance report (Form 1), payment proof, diagnosis report, city business location verification.
