Summary

1. Overview: This Miyazaki Prefecture program subsidizes costs incurred by care service providers that accept foreign care workers, with the policy goal of improving workplace conditions, supporting smooth employment and retention, and helping secure care personnel. The FY2026 notice states that applications are accepted until September 30, 2026, after which the prefecture allocates the budget and notifies applicants of the grant decision amount. It is not a first-come-first-served program, and applications may be adjusted within the available budget. 2. Eligible applicants: Eligible applicants are corporations operating designated long-term care service facilities or offices in Miyazaki Prefecture that already accept, or plan to accept, foreign care workers. Applicants must have no unpaid prefectural taxes, must implement or pledge to start special collection of individual resident tax where applicable, must not be organized crime groups or related parties, and must not otherwise be considered unsuitable by the governor. Eligible foreign care workers are those accepted as care workers under specified statuses of residence: EPA-based designated activities, care, technical intern training, or Specified Skilled Worker (i). 3. Eligible costs and support: Eligible activities include measures to promote communication with foreign care workers, measures necessary for their certified care worker qualification acquisition, and measures necessary for daily-life support. Examples include multilingual translation devices, Japanese-language learning support, intercultural training for staff, textbooks, fees and travel costs for initial care worker or practical training courses, mental care, community exchange events, and bicycles for commuting and daily life. The guidelines list honoraria, travel, supplies, usage and rental fees, training fees, and equipment purchases as eligible categories, while ordinary furniture and home appliances, vocational school tuition, personnel costs, supervision organization fees, Wi-Fi installation or usage, and other costs not clearly dedicated to this project are excluded. 4. Rate, cap, schedule, and filing points: The subsidy rate is up to two-thirds. The base amount is 300,000 yen per facility, and the grant cap is 200,000 yen per facility, rounded down below 1,000 yen. The project period is April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027. Applications are due by September 30, 2026, and grant decisions are expected in October. Applications may be submitted by email, in person, or by post, with the application form, project plan, budget statement, calculation sheet, employment contract or evidence of planned employment, catalogues, tax certificate, special collection confirmation or pledge, and pledge form. Performance reports are due within 30 days after completion or by April 12, 2027, whichever is earlier, and payment is made after settlement.
