Summary

1) Overview: Marugame City subsidy supports SMEs and others installing energy-saving equipment at owned business sites in the city, targeting reduced energy use and greenhouse gas emissions under the Zero Carbon City initiative. Unique scheme requiring prior energy-saving diagnosis with both diagnosis fee and equipment cost covered. 2) Eligible Applicants: (1) SMEs (SME Basic Law Art. 2-1), (2) SME organizations, (3) medical corporations, (4) social welfare corporations, (5) school corporations, (6) other businesses approved by mayor. Eligible expenses: (a) energy-saving diagnosis fees (subsidy rate 1/1) by Energy Conservation Center of Japan or equivalent, (b) equipment update costs based on diagnosis (within 3 years) - design, equipment, construction including removal/disposal (subsidy rate 1/2, ex tax). Diagnosis recommendations must be implemented unchanged. Equipment must be new, purchased, installed at self-owned business sites in the city. 4) Subsidy Rates, Cap and Schedule: Diagnosis 1/1, equipment 1/2. Cap ¥400,000 (rounding down ¥1,000s). One application per applicant per equipment type per fiscal year. Process: (1) Pre-application before construction (Form 1) with site map, current photos, diagnosis report; (2) Reservation number notification (Form 2); (3) Construction; (4) Post-completion application (Form 5) with receipts, contracts, warranty, installation photos; (5) Decision and amount confirmation (Form 6); (6) Payment request (Form 7); (7) Subsidy payment. Disposal during legal useful life requires prior approval. Must cooperate with city decarbonization initiatives.
