Summary

1) Project overview: This Fuji-River Region Tourism Promotion Council subsidy supports the development and improvement of tourism products that exploit the regional resources of the Kyonan area in Yamanashi Prefecture, in line with the 'Kyonan Region Tourism Promotion Strategy' (concept: 'HEALING in FUJI VALLEY'). 'Development' creates a new tourism product not yet on the market; 'improvement' deepens and refines an existing product. Eligible products include destination tour packages, lodging plans, experience contents and souvenirs. Companion-style hands-on consulting (via the Japan Travel Bureau Foundation, JTB-koen) is provided alongside the financial subsidy. 2) Target applicants: Applicants must satisfy either (1) the applicant (including constituent entities of voluntary associations) is based in the Kyonan area (the five towns: Ichikawamisato, Hayakawa, Minobu, Nambu, Fujikawa), OR (2) the applicant runs the project in cooperation with a Kyonan-based business and develops Kyonan-related products. In addition, all of conditions (3) through (12) must be met: (3) clear sales plan and numerical targets; (5) ability to publicly report results; (6) cooperation with follow-up surveys; (7) for unincorporated groups, having governing rules and accounting; (8) not duplicating an application accepted elsewhere; (9) lawfulness; (10) not in corporate/civil rehabilitation; (11) not being a gang-related person; etc. Activities identical or similar to a prior council subsidy (R6/R7) are also excluded. 3) Eligible expenses / subsidy content: Eligible expenses must be (i) clearly specific to the project, (ii) generated by contracts/orders dated on/after the grant decision, and (iii) confirmable by evidence documents. Categories include supplies (prototype materials, consumables), services (postage, insurance), use & rental fees, commission fees (promotion costs, product-label design), and other items approved by the council president (honoraria, experience fees on monitor tours). Promotion cost is capped at less than 1/2 of the total project cost. NOT eligible: equipment purchases, construction/renovation of buildings, land acquisition, the operator's personnel costs, rent, utilities, fees for the application itself, post-project promotion, sales-side expenses, transfer fees, religious/political activities. 4) Subsidy rate / cap / schedule / application points: Subsidy rate: up to 2/3; cap: 450,000 yen. Plan: 10 grants total (2 per each of the 5 towns). Three windows: 1st 1 May–29 May 2026 (17:00 deadline); 2nd 19 Jun–17 Jul 2026; 3rd 7 Aug–28 Aug 2026 (2nd and 3rd may be cancelled depending on adoption status). Achievement-report deadline: Friday 12 Feb 2027. Required forms: Form 1 (grant application), Form 1-1 (project overview diagram), Form 1-2 (development-type plan) OR Form 1-3 (improvement-type plan), Form 1-4 (budget), Form 1-5 (declaration), plus company brochure, certificate of registration / statutes, optional related documents. Submission: in person or by post to Yamanashi Pref. Tourism Site Management Support Group; Forms 1–5 also by email. For contracts ≥100,000 yen, two or more quotations are required at the achievement-report stage.
