Summary

①Overview: INPIT Business Restructuring Plan Support Subsidy partially funds the IP-related investigation expenses for certified-business-restructuring entities (Specified Mid-tier Enterprises) under the Act on Strengthening Industrial Competitiveness (Sankyo-ho). Administered by Japan's Industrial Property Information and Training Institute (INPIT). ②Eligible applicants: Certified Specified Mid-tier Enterprises under Article 34-2 of the Sankyo-ho, who have received the Article 23(1) certification including support measures per Article 34-2(2). Also: (1) appropriate management base and fund-handling capability, (2) not under METI subsidy/contract suspension measures, (3) cooperation with METI's EBPM initiatives. ③Eligible expenses & benefit content: Clearly-identifiable expenses necessary for the project, validated by evidence. Cost categories: honoraria, travel, outsourcing for IP due-diligence, IP-infringement-prevention surveys, IP-landscape surveys, and other investigations for IP protection and utilization. NOT eligible: subsidy-application/report drafting expenses, unrelated costs. Only post-grant-decision contracts/disbursements eligible, bank-transfer-confirmed only (no cash/bill payments). Vendors under METI suspension excluded. Consumption tax excluded from application (with some exemptions). ④Rate, ceiling, schedule, application pointers: 1/3 rate, JPY 6,500,000 cap per business. Implementation period: grant decision date through 2027-03-12. Application deadline: 2026-12-18 17:00. J-Grants electronic application (GBizID Prime required; INPIT does NOT support GBizID issuance — contact GBizID Office). Subsidy paid post-completion as reimbursement. Final scope and amount determined in coordination with INPIT.
