FY2026 Foreign Copyright Registration Fee Support Program

This is a subsidy program administered by Tokyo to support SMEs in protecting and leveraging copyrights overseas, strengthening international competitiveness. Eligible applicants include SMEs, sole proprietors, SME associations, and general incorporated associations/foundations based in Tokyo with copyrightable works in excellent products/services and plans for overseas expansion. The program covers foreign copyright registration fees, agent fees, translation costs, and related expenses at a 1/2 subsidy rate up to a maximum of ¥100,000. The support period runs from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2028 (2 years), and prior intellectual property consultation is a mandatory requirement. Applications are accepted continuously with a final deadline of October 1, 2026 at 5:00 PM, making early consultation with the Tokyo IP Center essential.
