FY2026 Advanced Safety Machinery Adoption Support Subsidy
Summary
Overview: The FY2026 Advanced Safety Machinery Adoption Support Subsidy is administered by JCOSHA (Construction Industry Labor Disaster Prevention Association) to subsidize small and medium-sized construction businesses purchasing high-grade safety devices installed on vehicle-type construction machinery. The FY2026 round expanded eligible model numbers from 649 to 709. Eligible applicants: Owners or planned purchasers of listed machines that hold a construction-business license and meet the SME definition: (1) construction & other sectors -- capital under 300M JPY or under 300 employees; (2) wholesale -- 100M JPY / 100 employees; (3) services -- 50M JPY / 100 employees; (4) retail -- 50M JPY / 50 employees. Applicants must have no labor-insurance arrears, no organized-crime ties, and no recent labor-law violations. Eligible expenses & benefits: Purchase cost of designated safety devices (overload protection, auto-deceleration/stop, multi-camera monitoring/warning) attached to crane-loader trucks, hydraulic excavators, wheel loaders, and compaction machines. Half of the manufacturer's suggested retail price is subsidized. Costs already covered by other government grants for the same purpose are excluded; machines purchased before the grant decision are also excluded. Rate / cap / schedule: Subsidy rate is 1/2 of the device price per unit. Per-device caps: 1,000,000 JPY for crane-loader-truck overload devices and excavator/loader auto-stop devices; 500,000 JPY for multi-camera warning systems. Annual cap per applicant is 5,000,000 JPY. Web pre-application opens 2026-05-15 (Fri) and closes 2027-01-28 (Thu). Full document submission within 7 days of pre-application; payment-claim documents must arrive by 2027-02-18 (Thu). Budget may close acceptance early.
