[FY R8] Sabae City Subsidy for Scholarship Repayment Support to Secure SME Talent
Summary
①Overview: Sabae City supports SMEs that introduce scholarship-repayment-support schemes for their employees, helping them secure talent and promote local employment of young people. Eligible scholarships include those from JASSO, Sabae City's own scholarship fund, and those from other local governments, universities, or private organizations. ②Eligible Applicants: Employers must be SMEs with a primary office in Sabae City, have a scholarship-repayment-support clause in their work rules or wage regulations, employ the target employee as a regular full-time worker, have no overdue municipal taxes, and not be partly owned by national, prefectural, or municipal government. Eligible employees must reside in Sabae City as of the application date, be employed without a fixed term as a regular employee, be a new graduate or out-of-prefecture transferee hired on or after 1 April 2025, be under 30 years old at the date of hire, and not be in arrears on scholarship repayment. ③Eligible Expenses & Content: Subsidized expenses are the sum of repayment-support amounts paid directly to the employee and amounts paid as a proxy directly to the scholarship-lending institution on the employee's behalf. Amounts already covered by other municipalities' support schemes or scholarships lent by the applicant employer itself are excluded. ④Subsidy Rate, Cap, Schedule, and Application Tips: The subsidy is 1/2 of the company's repayment-support payment (rounded down to the nearest thousand yen). Annual cap: ¥1,200,000 per target employee (max 10 employees per employer per year, max ¥10,000 per month per person). The eligible period is 5 years from the first month support was paid. Applications must be filed every 6 months, within 1 month after the 6-month period ends.
