[FY R8 Now Accepting Applications] Sumida Ward LED Lighting Adoption Support
Summary
①Overview: To help SMEs cope with rising electricity costs and improve management, Sumida Ward subsidizes part of the cost of installing LED lighting under the 'FY R8 Sumida Ward Productivity Improvement Support Subsidy (LED Lighting Adoption Support)'. The subsidy covers replacing existing non-LED lighting in ward-based business facilities with new LED lighting (equivalent to the existing ones), helping reduce energy costs and improve operations. ②Eligible Applicants: SMEs as defined by the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Basic Act Article 2(1), with at least 1 year of main-office presence in the ward (corporations: registered head office and substantive business in the ward; sole proprietors: business address and substantive business in the ward). No special-ward residence tax (corporate metropolitan tax for corporations) arrears (or for non-resident sole proprietors, no business-office portion of resident tax arrears). Not associated with anti-social forces per Sumida's anti-organized-crime ordinance. Not engaging in adult-entertainment activities (unless specifically approved). Not violating administrative-scrivener laws or other regulations. Recipients of this same subsidy in FY R4 or later are not eligible. ③Eligible Expenses & Content: (1) LED lighting unit purchase costs, (2) installation parts costs, (3) installation work fees (directly related to lighting installation). Lighting in continuous use for at least 1 year in ward-based facilities is eligible. Installation work fee cap: ¥8,000 per location (exceptions for high-altitude work, etc.). Excluded: ceiling lights not requiring electrical work, duct rails, chandeliers and ornate lighting, mere light-bar/lamp swaps, outdoor advertising boards, outdoor installations, existing removal/disposal/transport/tools/scaffolding/cleanup/work vehicle costs, lump-sum or unclear expenses, consumption tax, self-installed work, rental property of leasing-business not used by applicant, items ordered/contracted/delivered/paid/started before grant decision, expenses double-funded by national/metro/ward subsidies. ④Subsidy Rate, Cap, Schedule, and Application Tips: 4/5 of eligible expenses, up to ¥1,500,000 (rounded down to ¥1,000). Application period: 1 April 2026 (Wed) – 28 December 2026 (Mon, must arrive). Office hours: 9:00–17:00 (excluding weekends/holidays). Ends once ward budget is exhausted. Achievement report deadline: 26 February 2027 (Fri, must arrive). Document review takes about 2–3 weeks; do not start work until receiving the grant decision notice. Proxy applications must be filed by an administrative scrivener or scrivener firm.
