Furusato Product Creation Support Project (Furusato Tax 3.0)

(1) Overview: Ikeda Town in Gifu Prefecture operates the Furusato Product Creation Support Project as part of its 'Furusato Tax 3.0' initiative, leveraging the hometown tax donation system through crowdfunding (CF) to raise funds for businesses creating new local products. The town solicits proposals from businesses, evaluates them based on originality, feasibility, and profitability, and conducts CF campaigns on behalf of selected projects. (2) Eligible Applicants: Small and medium-sized enterprises (per Article 2(1) of the SME Basic Act) or individuals having (or planning to establish) headquarters, branches, or business locations within Ikeda Town, who themselves implement the project, produce/process furusato products locally, are not affiliated with organized crime groups, do not fall under Article 167-4 of the Local Autonomy Act Enforcement Order, are not under corporate rehabilitation/civil rehabilitation proceedings, have fully paid town taxes, do not pursue religious or political activities, and have not received bidding qualification suspension. (3) Eligible Expenses & Support: Land acquisition (incl. survey/development), building construction for factories/workshops, land/building rental, building accessory equipment, structures and machinery acquisition, leasehold renovations, equipment purchase, leasing fees, outsourcing fees, external evaluation costs, and other approved expenses. Excluded: public taxes, consumption tax, government fees, personnel costs, food/beverage, consumables. (4) Rate, Cap, Schedule, Key Points: Subsidy equals 4/10 of donations raised. Donation target = 125% of eligible expenses. CF period through March 10 of the following fiscal year (or year after for land-acquisition projects). Application deadline May 29, 2026 17:00, then rolling acceptance through Dec 25, 2026. Review committee held by June 30. Mandatory 5-year project continuation.
