Fukushima Prefecture SME Extra-High-Voltage Electricity Charge Support Subsidy

(1) Overview: This Fukushima Prefecture subsidy program supports SMEs hit by soaring electricity prices by providing payment based on extra-high-voltage (tokubetsu-koatsu) electricity consumed from January to March 2026. It is the 7th round of public offering, administered by the Fukushima Prefecture Commerce & Industry Department, Management & Finance Division. (2) Eligible recipients: SMEs, small businesses, and cooperatives with offices in Fukushima Prefecture that either hold a direct extra-high-voltage electricity contract with a utility or occupy a commercial facility supplied with extra-high-voltage power as a paying tenant. Disqualified parties include deemed-large enterprises, public corporations, adult-entertainment operators, political/religious organizations, recipients of other state/prefectural electricity-cost subsidies, entities 25%+ owned by Fukushima Prefecture, prefectural tax delinquents, and parties with organized-crime ties. (3) Eligible expenses & benefits: Subsidy is calculated on extra-high-voltage electricity used Jan 1 to Mar 31, 2026. Unit rates: 2.3 yen per kWh for January and February usage; 0.8 yen per kWh for March usage. Facility owners may apply on behalf of all tenants and then redistribute funds proportionally to each tenant's measured consumption.
