Energy-efficient Building Design and Implementation Support Using BIM

① Tokyo supports BIM-based energy-efficient design for new buildings in Tokyo other than detached houses. Designers must analyze environmental performance from the early design stage and aim for Stage 3 under Tokyo standards. ② Eligible applicants are groups of architectural, structural, building-services and related designers using or planning to use BIM. The representative must be a registered architectural office, obtain the owner’s consent, and submit a building environmental plan. ③ Eligible costs are environmental-analysis software, instruction by BIM specialists, and training fees. BIM model creation, tax, transfer fees, travel/lodging, pre-award contracts and unsupported costs are excluded. ④ The rate is 2/3 for Stage 3 and 1/3 for Stages 1–2. Caps are JPY1m for software, JPY3m for expert instruction and JPY0.5m for training. Apply by 17:00 March 31, 2027; report within 60 days of completion or by November 30, 2027, whichever is earlier.
