Summary

The Chuo Ward Business Safety Mutual Aid Enrollment Subsidy assists small and medium-sized enterprises located in Chuo Ward, Tokyo, that newly enroll in the SMRJ-operated Small Business Bankruptcy Prevention Mutual Aid (Keiei Safety Kyosai). The ward subsidizes part of the monthly premiums paid by enrollees to protect local businesses from the risk of chain bankruptcy caused by trading partners' insolvency and to stabilize the local economy. Eligibility requires the applicant to be an SME meeting all of the following: has concluded a bankruptcy prevention mutual aid contract with SMRJ and paid premiums for 6 months or more (projected acceptable); has not previously received this subsidy; is an SME defined under Article 2, Paragraph 1, Items 1-3 of the Mutual Aid Act and has been operating in the ward for at least one year; corporations have their head office registered in the ward and sole proprietors have their main place of business in the ward; not delinquent on corporate enterprise tax / metropolitan tax (or individual enterprise tax / resident tax); not engaged in adult entertainment business regulated by the relevant Act; not a deemed large enterprise. The eligible expense is the equivalent of 6 months of premium payments from the month the mutual aid contract is concluded. If similar subsidies from the national government, other municipalities, or other bodies have been received, that amount is deducted. Required documents include the application form (Form No.1), a copy of the mutual aid application receipt-stamped, certificate of corporate registration or sole proprietor business opening notice, the most recent year's tax payment certificates, and any other documents the ward mayor deems necessary. Certificates must be issued within the last 3 months. The subsidy amount is one-third of the monthly premium, capped at JPY 20,000 per month (sums under JPY 1,000 truncated), yielding a maximum of JPY 120,000 (¥20,000 × 6 months). The application period runs from April 1, 2026 (Wed) to January 29, 2027 (Fri), on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is exhausted. Applications must be submitted within 6 months of contract conclusion; later applications are not accepted. Contracts concluded in October 2026 with prepaid premiums are ineligible. Apply via the LoGo electronic application form; after review and grant decision, premium payment and a results report lead to subsidy disbursement.
