Chino City SME Promotion Subsidy (Industry / Tourism)
Summary
(1) Overview: Chino City SME Promotion Subsidy (Industry / Tourism) supports SMEs in Chino City's manufacturing and tourism sectors by subsidising the establishment of factories, tourist (lodging) facilities and acquisition of depreciable assets, pursuant to the Chino City SME Promotion Ordinance. The scheme has three tracks: (1) Designated Facility Installation (pollution-control / waste-treatment / employee-welfare facilities), (2) Factory Installation, and (3) Tourist (Lodging) Facility Installation. (2) Eligible Applicants: SMEs with a business location in Chino City engaged in manufacturing or tourism, installing factories or tourist (lodging) facilities within the city. For tourism, applicants must hold a Ryokan Business Act Article 3 licence and have operated lodging facilities within the city for 10 years or more. Applicants must have no delinquent municipal or national health insurance taxes. (3) Eligible Expenses & Contents: Factory / tourism facility installation covers expenses (the annual taxable standard amount of fixed assets) for new builds, expansions, or utilisation of vacant factories of land, buildings and depreciable assets. New builds require a total invested fixed-asset value of JPY 20 million or more; expansions require a 20% or more increase rate in fixed-asset valuation. Designated facilities require minimum invested fixed-asset values of JPY 3M (pollution control), JPY 1M (waste treatment, excluding incineration), or JPY 5M (employee welfare). (4) Rate / Cap / Schedule / Application Notes: The subsidy rate for factories / tourism facilities is 1.4% (subsidy period: 3 years for new builds, 2 years for expansions). Designated facilities receive 10% (pollution control, cap JPY 8M), 5% (waste treatment, cap JPY 200K), or 10% (employee welfare, cap JPY 3M). Annual caps per category: land JPY 5M, buildings JPY 8M (expansion JPY 5M), depreciable assets JPY 3M (expansion JPY 2M). Application window: April 1 – May 31, 2027 (Reiwa 8). Awards are decided after consultation with the Chino City SME Promotion Council.
