Summary

1) Overview: This subsidy is operated by Achi Village (Nagano Prefecture) under the FY2026 Achi Village Energy Price Surge Countermeasure Subsidy Grant Guidelines (Notice No. 10, Feb 17, 2025), funded by Japan's Regional Revitalization Emergency Grant for Price Surge Countermeasures. It supports village-based businesses suffering from rising energy prices by partially reimbursing energy expenses purchased for business use. 2) Eligible applicants: Corporations with business locations in Achi Village, or sole proprietors residing in Achi Village (sole proprietors must have filed FY2025 income/resident tax returns, or have opened a business in the village between January and December 2025). Applicants must have no unpaid village taxes, intend to continue operations after receipt, and not be members of organized crime. Religious or political groups, voluntary associations, national or local governments, and adult-entertainment businesses defined under Article 2-5 of the Act on Control and Improvement of Amusement Businesses are excluded. 3) Eligible expenses & content: Eligible energies are gasoline, diesel, heavy oil (including A heavy oil), kerosene, gas, and electricity purchased for business use during three consecutive months selected from June 2025 to May 2026. Expenses already covered by other subsidies are excluded. For corporations with HQ outside the village, only village-located branches qualify; if expense allocation is difficult, an employee-headcount-ratio method is allowed. 4) Rate, cap, schedule, key points: The subsidy is 15% (rounded down to JPY 1,000) of eligible expenses (which must total at least JPY 50,000 over the three months). Caps: JPY 500,000 for corporations, JPY 400,000 for greenhouse-horticulture farms using A heavy oil or kerosene, JPY 200,000 for sole proprietors. One application per business. Application window: June 1 to August 31, 2026. Receipts, bank-statement copies, or online-payment histories proving payment are mandatory attachments.
